As humans, we’re all different, so the amount of time that it takes to work can vary from person to person. However, most people do start seeing results in terms of weight loss within the first few weeks of taking the injections – even before reaching the therapeutic doses.

Based on a 72-week clinical study of once-weekly injection of GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist compared to placebo, customers could lose up to 20% of their body weight. The doses of once weekly mounjaro have led to clinically meaningful and sustained weight reduction in obese adults.

As a general guide, most people taking Semaglutide for weight loss are expected to lose at least 5% of their body weight within 12 weeks of starting treatment. Generally speaking, if Semaglutide doesn’t help you to lose 5% of your starting weight after 12 weeks of using it, then our specialist nurses can arrange a referral to our specialist dietitians and life coaches to look at alternative options/support routes.

Our systems and our specialist nurses will be calculating and reviewing your BMI upon receipt of your application or following your consultation. However, if you would like to work out your BMI prior to this, you can use our BMI calculator HERE[insert BMI Calculator or present one underneath].‍Here is a simplified step-by-step guide to calculating BMI:
1. Convert your weight to kilograms (kg):‍If your weight is in pounds (lbs), divide it by 2.205 to get your weight in kilograms (kg). For example, if you weigh 150 lbs, divide 150 by 2.205 to get approximately 68 kg.

2. Convert your height to meters (m):‍If your height is in inches (in), multiply it by 0.0254 to get your height in meters (m). For example, if you are 70 inches tall, multiply 70 by 0.0254 to get approximately 1.78 meters.

3. Square your height in meters:‍Multiply your height in meters (from step 2) by itself to square it. For example, if your height is 1.78 meters, multiply 1.78 by 1.78 to get approximately 3.17.

4. Calculate your BMI:‍Divide your weight in kilograms (from step 1) by your height in meters squared (from step 3). For example:
BMI = Weight (kg) / Height (m)^2
BMI = 68 kg / 3.17
BMI ≈ 21.5

Yes, there are certain medical conditions that may disqualify someone from receiving medications like Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic or Rybelsus. These medications contain specific active ingredients (such as semaglutide for Wegovy and tirzepatide for Mounjaro) that are intended for specific uses and may not be suitable for everyone. Here are some general considerations:

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:These medications may not be recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the fetus or infant. Healthcare providers will assess the risks and benefits on an individual basis.

Severe Gastrointestinal Disorders:Conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or severe gastrointestinal disorders may make the use of these medications problematic due to potential exacerbation of symptoms.

History of Pancreatitis:Individuals with a history of pancreatitis may be at increased risk of recurrence or complications with medications like Mounjaro or Wegovy, which affect pancreatic function.

Renal Impairment:Kidney function is an important consideration as some medications may require dose adjustments or may not be suitable for individuals with severe renal impairment.

Liver Disease:
Hepatic impairment can affect the metabolism and clearance of medications, potentially requiring dose adjustments or alternative treatments.

History of Eating Disorders
Medications for weight management may not be appropriate for individuals with active eating disorders or a history of severe eating disorders due to the risk of exacerbation or complications.

Certain Cardiovascular Conditions
Some cardiovascular conditions, such as severe heart failure, may necessitate caution or avoidance of medications that can affect heart function or fluid balance.

Drug Interactions:
Concurrent use of certain medications or substances may interact with Mounjaro or Wegovy, affecting efficacy or safety.

Ultimately, the decision to prescribe medications like Mounjaro or Wegovy depends on a thorough assessment by a healthcare provider. They will consider the individual's medical history, current health status, and potential risks and benefits associated with the medication. Always consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice regarding the use of these medications.

To begin Wegovy or Mounjaro at a higher dosage if you're currently using these medications with another provider, we require evidence of your current medication and dosage. Here’s how to proceed:

During the online assessment and eligibility questions, you will be asked 'Have you taken Mounjaro, Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy or Saxenda medication in the past 28 days?', please 'select ‘Yes’ if you have taken Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, Saxenda, or Rybelsus in the last 28 days. After placing your order, use the link provided in your Verification Request email to upload your photo. If you encounter any difficulties finding this link, please contact our team for assistance.

Upon completing your purchase, you will receive a Verification Request email. In this email, you will find steps to verify your eligibility, including uploading a photo that clearly shows:
- Your full name
- Name of the medication
- Dosage
- Date the prescription was approved.

Acceptable forms of evidence include a screenshot of your NHS record, a consultant letter, a photo of the prescription sticker on the medication box, or the prescription itself if obtained from an online provider.

For further inquiries about starting on a higher dosage, please contact our Customer Service Team via the form on the New Booking link on the Contact page.
